Up for some fun or relaxation when it comes to bars in Danang? Of course you are! That’s why you’re reading this travel blog. And hey, we completely understand where you’re coming from.
So, we’ve been visiting Danang since 2018… and it’s incredible that every time we come here there are many changes. Danang is developing quickly. And, it’s “on the map” as a top destination not only for digital nomads… but for families, couples, singles, and retirees.
And, new places appear every time we return. But, sadly we’ve seen places close down, with some businesses only lasting for weeks! Now, that is horrifying if you’re a business owner.
Yet, we have seen some “long-stayers” when it comes to bars in Danang. Some have kept their original name, while others have been overtaken by new management… or have had a complete overhaul.
So, again, by popular demand… we’re updating our travel blog about bars in Da Nang. Now there are even more bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants… let alone accommodation places, cafes, convenience stores and massage parlors!
Of course, that’s exciting for the owners, many of whom are young. And, this is because Vietnam apparently has a median age in the early 30’s. Yet, the awesome thing is for the locals and tourists alike… it means more choice and variety.

Must Love Da Nang
We do love Da Nang! And, every time previously we would stay on the beach side. Yet, we’ve had the experience of being on the city side – Hai Chau. And wow, that should be a travel blog in itself!
So, what you need to know is… that there’s a massive contrast in atmosphere between the beach and city areas. Now, that’s crazy as they’re only about a 10-minute drive from each other!
Plus, you may have seen our other blogs about Vietnam and Da Nang. So no doubt, you’ll discover more about why we love this place… and why we continue coming back.
We believe that it must have something to do with the laidback, relaxing environment. Maybe it’s the cool sea breeze or the sound of the waves rolling in… when we’re on the beach side of course.
Or, when on the city side – it’s quieter, with much less tourists. Yet, the locals are still so welcoming… which is common in Vietnam, from our perspective.
Danang Vietnam – the Place for Amazing Views and Cheap Drinks
Well, here’s another big plus if you love eating and drinking. And, it’s a bonus for those of you on a strict budget. Despite the tourist numbers growing in Danang, it’s still mind-blowingly inexpensive.
So, to have a beer by the beach it’s on average around 40,000 VND; that’s about USD $1.50 or EUR 1.30 or GPB 1.10 or CNY 10.50. How many places in the world can you get cheap drinks like that? And, especially with magnificent views such as this one…
Now, there are several beaches along the DaNang coastline to experience. And, one of the popular areas if you want a lively atmosphere is – My An. This area has the highest concentration and variety of bars and restaurants. In saying that, there are more cropping up in My Khe and Son Tra.
So, as our fellow travelers and followers would know, when it comes to traveling – drinking is a huge part of our lives! Normally coffee, beer or wine, and occasionally cocktails – not always in that order either. Ha ha ha!
Two Main Areas for Bars in Danang
Now, in our previous blog about Danang bars – our focus was on the My An area on the beach side. Yet, in this updated travel blog… we’re going to include some places on the city side (Hai Chau). And, you won’t believe what we thought about it!
Most bars and variety of places is on the beach side of Danang. And, when you start exploring… you’ll discover that it’s easy to get around and experience them.
Plus, for the most vibrant and busiest bar scene in An Thuong … head on over to Ngo Thi Si street and the surrounding area. Yep, there are plenty of bars with different atmospheres to suit lots of tastes and age groups… as well as budget levels.
On the city side, there are far less “Western style” bars. Yet, it still has some places we recommend you should check out.
Oh, and by the way… you might find that around 10pm some bars start to turn the music down. Some of you may be thinking that it should be the opposite… where the music should be blaring and pumping loud!
Yet, the reason for the wind down in volume is because of this – there are local laws in place to avoid disturbing the residents. So, they can get a peaceful sleep, without blaring music – or screeching karaoke.
So, with that insight, in this We Drink Eat Travel blog… here are 10 bars in Danang you can check out – from the city to the sea. And, in no particular order.

1. Corner Pub
Now, this pub is one of our favorites. Get there earlier and it’s quite laid back. Yet, as the night goes… it can turn into a hype of activity, even until the wee hours of the morning. Plus, it’s a great place if you want to meet fellow travelers or even locals.
Here they have a variety of beers on offer. Yet for local beers, you can get a small bottle of Huda beer at 35,000 VND. Plus, they also have the large ones at 450ml.
Now, an awesome thing is for lovers of Huda beer… they have one of the best happy hour deals between 5pm and 9pm.
Buy one Huda bottle get one free. Now, you’ll need to check with them if the deal is only for the small Huda bottles… or if it includes the big 450ml Huda beer bottles too.
Plus, you can listen to some great tunes. Or, on certain nights they have a DJ… to spice up the night and get you lubricated until the sun comes up.
Watch the World Go By at The Corner Pub
Now, The Corner Pub is also a great location to watch the action. And, if you’ve never been to Vietnam before – you’re sure to see some unique sights.
Take a seat facing the streets when they’re available. And, watch the bicyclists, cars, motorcyclists, and pedestrians navigating around each other… let alone around the tourists! It sure is a spectacle.
So, at one point… we saw a family of 5 on a scooter heading to the beach, in the early evening. While in the opposite direction… a local guy had a pet dog perching on the front of his motorbike. And then, we saw his second pet dog sitting on the back… enjoying the wind blowing through, flapping his ears!
Plus, after the sun was going down… we saw more vendors making their way around town. There’d be ladies in their silk pyjamas selling snacks like fruit, nuts… and all sorts of other things.
And, we always enjoy seeing the guys on a motorbike… with the wood fire steamer on the back, selling their buns. If you’ve never seen them before, they have a flame burning on the back of their motorbike… keeping those buns warm for potential customers. I’m talking about food buns, people!
What’s more, they have their iconic loud speaker blaring… to let you know they have buns for sale. And it’s funny, because we think it’s saying, “One boiled egg!” You’ll know it when you see it and hear it!
You can find the Corner Pub on – the corner of Ngo Thi Si and An Thoung 6 Streets.
Next on our list of bars in Danang to check out is…
2. Outback Beer Café
Yeah, OK, we’re Aussies. Now, while we love exploring the local bars… we like to check out an Australian bar if there are any where we travel.
As I mentioned earlier… unfortunately there are several bars in Danang that have come and gone. Yet, the Outback Beer Café is one of the newer places… in comparison to some of the other bars in this travel blog.
So, the Outback Beer Café serves food as well as drinks. Run by a friendly Australian couple, they’ve got the beers perfect… ice cold every time.
While it’s still in the central bar area, it’s on a quieter street… 14 D. Tụ Quán. Thus, if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle… as well as listen to some great music, swing by. Plus, they have a beer garden opposite their main premises.
At the time of writing they had happy hours on beers between 3pm and 7pm… where the price was only 25,000 VND each. Best to check which beers are part of the deal.
Next on our list of bars in Da Nang, is this one…
3. Filling Station
Filling Station is a massive pub in the heart of the An Thuong area… one of the most busiest parts of DaNang. Whether you’re after cocktails, beers, coffee or juices… they have a variety of drinks at very reasonable prices.
And, if you feel peckish… they also have different food menus including Western through to Vietnamese dishes.
Plus, if you’re wanting to take advantage of some happy hours from the day until 8:00pm… check out what they have on offer.
For example, there’s buy 2 get 1 free on selected beers. Now, you need to know that with this happy hour special… it is per person.
As far as we’re aware, this is the only bar that we’ve come across… that has this strange requirement!
And, there’s a couple of pool tables… if you’re wanting to show off your skills or just have some fun.
Oh, by the way, if you do love your pool/ billiards… there are several bars in Da Nang that hold various competitions. Plus, prizes include winning a decent amount of cash!
Now, with Da Nang being a seaside city… I must mention a beach bar, right?! And, one to check out is….
4. Paradise Beach Bar & Cinema Danang
This bar is in the heart of the My An beach area… on 270 Võ Nguyên Giáp street. Therefore, easy to access by walking for many tourists. Mind you, Grab or Xanh are great apps to download for getting around… if you couldn’t be bothered walking.
Now, if you’re after a place for awesome views while having a beverage or two or more – come and check out this bar, directly on Danang beach.
So, it opens early in the morning. And, you can get non-alcoholic drinks too – such as juices and smoothies.
Yet, if you want to experience this bar and the glorious views undercover… be aware that it does get busy in the main bar area. Otherwise, take a seat right on the beach. And, enjoy the scenic ocean plus mountain views… as well as all the activity on the beach.
On one of my visits… I was lucky enough to witness a beautiful rainbow setting. Check this pic out…

Now, with happy hours for a variety of drinks starting in the morning… you’re sure to be jolly from day until night, if that’s what you’re after!
Plus, what’s crazy are the prices for a beach bar. You can get wines from around 120,000 VND, beers from around 45,000 VND… or cocktails from around 135,000. Ridiculous, right?
So, the next place on our list of bars in Da Nang will make you see red!
5. C Bar
This bar is different from the one I’ve mentioned so far. C Bar exudes sophistication and style, with its red lanterns and dim lamps… adorning the dark wood interior.
There are beautiful paintings as the backdrop for the bar and stage. Thus, with a stage they do have live bands that perform daily. And, the music caters for different genres. So, walk past to see the schedule and if it may interest you.
As with a place like this… drinks are slightly more expensive than some of the other places you’ll come across. But hey, if you’re wanting a different atmosphere than the potentially wild scene of Ngo Thi Si – this may be an option for you.
So, check out C Bar if of interest – for live music in its beautiful, sophisticated surroundings. Plus, if you get hungry… they do whip up some dishes here to fill your belly.

6. N Pub
This is one of the original bars in Danang in the My An beach area. And, it’s also the one that we went to often… on our first trip to this amazing city. And, 10 years later they’re still here – although their locations have been in different spots.
Now, you can find the N Pub on 6 An Thượng 39 Street. Although it’s on a quiet residential street… they have open mic nights, for example. Thus, if you get the urge to belt out some tunes… head on over and entertain the locals! Ha ha ha!
So, they do have happy hours from 3pm – 6pm… buy 2 get 1 free. Best to check what that includes. And note, that at this place – the prices do NOT include taxes. So, be wary when you’re looking at the menu prices.
Plus, they serve a variety of food if you’re feeling the hunger pangs – from German sausages to local food.
7. Embassy Irish Sports Bar and Grill
If you’re looking for some Irish hospitality in the heart of DaNang Vietnam… check out the Embassy Irish Sports Bar & Grill. Plus, if you’re craving a genuine Guinness, and service with a smile… you’ll get it here.
So, whether you want live sports, hearty pub fare, pool, darts or live music over a few beverages… the vibe is pure “craic.” The decor is dark wood, with enough screens to ensure you never miss a match live.
Now, the atmosphere throughout the day and night can shift. From a laidback environment through to a vibrant sports arena… so you can support your team across the other side of the world.
Plus, head on over to the free pool area towards the back of the venue – if you want to show off your skills. So, being at the back, you can concentrate on the game… while everyone else is livin’ it up!
And, if you’re after some Irish comfort food in Vietnam… you can find it here. Whether you’re after hearty stews… to big breakfasts and Sunday roasts.
So far, all these bars in Danang are on the beach side. Yet, remember, there is the city side to explore too. So, let’s run through a few of them right now.
8. Tiệm Bia Gà – Rooster Beers Taproom Da Nang
If you’ve been traveling around Vietnam… then you may have already been to one of the many Rooster Beer bars. And, while the craft beer culture is plentiful in Vietnam… we’d have to say that we really enjoy the Rooster beers.
There are so many different varieties. Plus, they have different sizes to suit everyone. And, what’s incredible is how affordable the prices are, considering it’s craft beer. Here’s a sample of the menu…
You’d have to agree that a large 500ml of flavorsome craft beer… starting at 34,000 VND is a steal!
Now, it generally does get busy Friday evenings and weekends. And, if you look inside to see that all the seats are taken… fear not fellow travelers!
The staff will try and help, by setting up a few tables and chairs on the roadside. Yet, where we’re from in Australia, that won’t happen. And, this is one of the reasons why we love Vietnam. They’ll do their best to accommodation customers… even if it means having drinks on the side of the road!
So, another one of the bars in Danang to check out on the city side is…
9. Buffalo Beer and Coffee
Now, this place is a little out of the touristy Hai Chau area. Yet, if you want to look out onto the streets… in the typical small Vietnamese seats then stop by.
Plus, the menu is extensive and beverages are cheap in comparison. No happy hours. But hey, who needs happy hours when drinks are cheap. For example, you can get beers starting from 25,000 VND.
And, if you’re not sure what to have, go check out their beer fridge. It has a HUGE range of beers and drinks to suit any tastebuds.
So, we thought their slogan was funny of, “WE SERVE BEER COLDER & CHEAPER than you ex!”

Well, we’d have to agree in that the beers are really cold!
Plus, we did like the music too. And, it’s not too loud. So, you can still have a conversation without having to yell like a madman.
As the name suggests, they do serve other drinks that are non-alcoholic. And, they also have a small display where they sell jewelry. Maybe they should rename it to: Buffalo Coffee, Beer and Bling!
Now, this last place on our list of bars in Danang was a fantastic find.
10. TIỆM BIA 188
So, if you’re wanting a quiet, relaxed “hidden” bar… then head on over to this place. Coffee by day, bar by night. Or, as it is in Vietnam – coffee any time of day or night!
Now, you wouldn’t even know that there was a bar here. Because, once you step inside the front entrance… it looks like a café. Yet, once you head on up some stairs, you’ll discover the bar area.
And, what you’ll discover is nothing like the Ngo This Si area of DaNang. Instead, you can experience some chill music in a relaxing atmosphere. No, it’s not huge, but it’s quiet and comfy.
So, what was surprising to us was that on the menu were a few European beers – of well-known standard brands. OK, you may be thinking, so what?
Yet, there were beers like Kronenbourg 1664 for only 30,000 VND. We thought that was an excellent price for this type of beer. Also, what we found was that if you look in their fridge… there are other drinks not on their menu.
Yes, there are some language barriers. Yet, it’s not hard to communicate with a translator app… or simply pointing and indicating how much?
So, this was a pleasantly surprising discovery… adding to our exciting exploration of bars in Danang.
Now, with your thirst quenching… it’s time to head out and hit the bars in Danang. Whether you’re exploring the city side or beach side of this amazing city… you’re sure to find a range of bars at prices to make your travels perfect.
Enjoy your time – CHEERS!
