Paul and I had planned a trip to Vienna, and although we knew English was spoken widely there… we decided to pre-book our airport transfer in Vienna.
So when I was researching on how to get from Vienna airport to the city centre… it seemed that catching the public transport was an efficient and easy option.
Yet, as we had 2 large suitcases and some carry on luggage… we didn’t want to risk having the hassle of getting on and off the public transport, especially if it was packed.
So in the end, we decided to check out private taxi companies. And I started to research their websites… but found several didn’t have an English translation option. So that was easy enough to take them off the list.
Many of the Vienna airport taxi companies also wanted a phone number that they could contact us on. We didn’t have a Euro sim and we hadn’t planned on getting one either.
Yet, there was one company that stood out for professionalism, service, visibility of information, and price. Plus, what we liked is that they used WhatsApp for communication too.
This company was called Vienna Airport Cab. You can check out their website HERE.
Great Benefits With Vienna Airport Cab
In comparing the offerings between taxi companies, Vienna Airport Cab had some great benefits. These included:
- Ordering of taxis 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online
- No extra fee for flight delay
- Your 8th trip with them would be free
- Payment by cash or credit card, which has a surcharge of 5 Euro
- A fixed price with no hidden charges
Of course, please check with the company yourself for the details to be sure.
Booking Our Taxi From Vienna Airport To City Centre
We could call or email to book our airport taxi, yet I used the WhatsApp chat as I thought it’d be quicker. Plus, I’d have everything in writing if there were any discrepancies.
So, I messaged them via WhatsApp and they immediately responded. So they needed details like name, flight information, amount of luggage, and number of persons.
Then, the sent through photos and directions of the pick up point, which was helpful. Plus, they also requested that we connect with them when we arrive at Vienna airport. The wifi is free and ridiculously fast at Vienna airport!
I’ll go through that soon.
Then, they confirmed the price, which was 27 Euro one way, for us to go into District 1. And within less than 10 minutes we were booked in for a taxi, from Vienna airport to the city.
Our Experience At The Airport With Vienna Airport Cab
Once we arrived at Vienna airport, I connected to the wifi when I could. Then out of curiosity I did a wifi speed test. Here’s the super fast speed I clocked up…
And getting 96.6 mbps on the download and the upload speed of 152 mbps was amazing!
Then I noticed that Vienna Airport Cab had already messaged me via WhatsApp. So as we were waiting to get out luggage, I was communicating with them.
And each step of the way they communicated with directions. Now, this was above and beyond since they’d already sent us good instructions when we’d booked.
So in the end, our driver arrived in a nice clean car. He helped with putting our luggage into the car… and once inside the car, he handed over a card for us to keep so on our 8th trip we’d get it free.
The driver was chatty and mentioned that his English wasn’t that great. Yet, we think he was being modest as we found it fine.
Plus, he was helpful with information and tourist activities around where we were staying.
All in all it was an extremely efficient, helpful and pleasant service. So we wouldn’t hesitate to contact Vienna Airport Cab again for airport transfers.
